Gin Anyone?
As our regular customers will already know we love a good Gin and Tonic at The French Reception, especially when we’re handing them to our clients.
Our staple Gin over the last 12 months has been Portobello Road (still one of our favourites) but more recently we’ve branched out and had a few new gins at the salon for our clients to try.
We started this exploration with a bottle of William Chase’s Great British Extra Dry Gin and what a great place to begin. Distilled in Herefordshire by the same man who gave us Tyrell’s crisps this potato based gin is dry and full of flavour. We then moved onto to a couple of London Dry Gins — Bulldog Gin and the Oriental spiced Opihr, which both went down a treat with our clients.
A bottle of gin that we use in the hair salon
We currently have a bottle of Edinburgh Gin in the salon, it’s a zesty mouthful with bright citrus notes and lots of Juniper that tastes great with tonic, and its another one of our favourites. We like gin, if you hadn’t noticed
We love a G&T as much as the next person but they’re ten a penny so we thought we’d share with you the recipe for one of our favourite cocktails:
Lemon Curd Sour
50ml Edinburgh Gin
3 teaspoons lemon curd
15ml lemon
2 teaspoon orange blossom honey
1 egg white
Method: add all the ingredients to a cocktail shaker, shake hard over ice and strain into your favourite glass. Garnish with a slice of orange.
We hope you love this cocktail as much as we do.
